The same plumber, every time
Over 95% of our work comes from people who have used us before. Not because we chase repeat business, but because once someone finds a plumber who turns up and does what he said, they tend to stop looking.
You get the same person each time. Nathan has been in the trade over thirty years and Millhouse has been running since 2002. There is no roster of subcontractors and no call centre in between.
The truck carries stock, so a lot of jobs get finished on the first visit rather than turning into a return trip and a second callout.
Strata and commercial
A substantial part of our work is ongoing maintenance for strata schemes, building managers and commercial sites. Where a job needs documenting for a committee, an owner or an insurer, you get a written description of what was found, what was done and what was tested.
General plumbing questions
Do you do small jobs, or only the specialist work?
Both. Most of our customers first called us about something small. General maintenance for people we already look after is a big part of what we do.
How quickly can you get here?
It depends on the day and where you are. Call and we will give you a straight answer rather than a booking we cannot keep. Genuine emergencies — burst pipes, no water, sewage overflow — get prioritised.
Do you do gas fitting?
Yes. BBQ conversions and points, heating points, appliance installation and gas line work, carried out licensed and certified.
Should I repair or replace my hot water system?
It depends on the age of the unit, what has failed and what it will cost. A unit under about eight years old with a failed component is usually worth repairing. An older unit with a failed tank is not. We will give you both numbers and let you decide.
Do you work with strata and commercial clients?
Yes, and a significant share of our work is exactly that. Ongoing maintenance, fault finding across common property, and written reporting suitable for committee and owner records.
